In February/March 2010, John and fellow photographer Richard Barrington ,Jess Lopatynski and daughter Colleen took a road trip to California. They spent time exploring and photographing Yosemite National Park, Death Valley, Lone Pine/Alabama Hills/Mount Whitney and the Carizzo Plain area.
