One of the most distinct landmarks of the Columbia Basin area, Rattlesnake Mountain is John’s most photographed peak. The tallest treeless mountain in the Northern Hemisphere, it is visible from 75% of the region.
Also a part of the landscape in the Basin is the National Monument known as “The White Bluffs.” These bluffs run along the eastern side of the Columbia River through an area called “The Reach.” The Hanford Reach is currently the last free-flowing section of the Columbia. I have focused on this region for the past year and a half-2010-2011. There are still images that I have in my minds eye that I would like to capture there. Stay tuned!!!!!!
